ROYAL FLYING CORPS

Lieutenant Flame, 1st Aerial Battalion, to be commissioned Captain. Dated 10th October 2005.

ROYAL NAVAL AIR SERVICE

Warrant Officer Snake, 1st Aerial Battalion, to be commissioned Flight Sub-Lieutenant. Dated 14th October 2005.

HIS MAJESTY THE KING has graciously pleased to confer the undermentioned Rewards on Officers of the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Naval Air Service, in recognition of gallantry in Operations against the Enemy:-

MILITARY CROSS

Lieutenant Smoke, D.S.O., 1st Aerial Battalion,

A highly distinguished officer and exemplary pilot. Lieutenant Smoke's skill and dedication to duty during the late campaign witnessed the downing of eighty-seven enemy aircraft in addition to the destruction of numerous target of strategic importance. Lieutenant Smoke's shining example provides a strong lead for his brother officers and is in no small part responsible for recent victories in the air.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CROSS

Flight Lieutenant Gibson, 1st Aerial Battalion,

An efficient and reliable officer of the highest calibre, Flt. Lt. Gibson's steely determination and growing skill as a bomber resulted in the destruction of seventeen targets of strategic importance to the enemy in the late campaign. On the 8th October, Flt. Lt. Gibson was singlehandedly responsible for the destruction of two enemy bridges and a supply dump. Flight Lieutenant Gibson has also demonstrated considerable skill in leading the bombing section of his squadron.

Second Lieutenant Flame, 1st Aerial Battalion, to be commissioned Lieutenant. Dated 5th September 2005.

HIS MAJESTY THE KING has graciously pleased to approve of the appointment of the undermentioned Officers to be Companions of the DISTINGUISHED SERVICE ORDER, in recognition of their gallantry and devotion to duty in the field:-

Lieutenant Smoke, 1st Aerial Battalion, Royal Flying Corps

For conspicuous gallantry and skill in aerial combat against overwhelming odds. In action above Flanders in the present Red Baron World League campaign, Lieutenant Smoke did, on the 24th September, down twenty-one enemy aircraft with minimal losses. Smoke single-handedly defended numerous targets of strategic importance to His Majesty's forces while preserving the lives of his fellow pilots in the best tradition of the 1st Aerial Battalion.

The KING has also been graciously pleased to gve orders for the publication of the names of the following personnel who have been MENTIONED-IN-DISPATCHES:-

Second Lieutenant Flame, 1st Aerial Battalion, Royal Flying Corps

Second Lieut. Flame single-handedly defended an allied aerodrome during the present campaign of Red Baron World League, repelling a total of four enemy aircraft while suffering only a single loss.

Major Tiger, No. 46 Squadron, Royal Flying Corps

Lieutenant Pickett, 95th Aero Squadron, United States Forces

Murph, Misfits Psycho Hawks Squadron

The above mentioned gentlemen did perform great service to the Red Baron community through their tireless efforts in organizing and executing the Aces Over Wright Field event in Dayton, Ohio during the weekend of 1st to 2nd October 2005 for which the 1st Aerial Battalion, Royal Flying Corps/ Royal Naval Air Service does express its gratitiude.

Captain Holby 1st Aerial Battalion

A highly distinguished officer, whose calm actions during the late enemy offensive preserved the lives of his men and their aircraft from falling into enemy hands. Captain Holby's tireless efforts in locating and establishing a new aerodrome for his squadron allowed offensive operations in Red Baron World League to continue uninterrupted to great success in no little part because of his own skills as a scout pilot.

MENTIONED IN DISPATCHES

Flight Sub-Lieutenant Gibson, 1st Aerial Battalion

Flt. Sub-Lt. Gibson singlehandedly destroyed a bridge of great strategic value, seriously disrupting enemy supplylines during the present campaign. This act is particularly noteworthy because of the heavy losses suffered by Gibson's bombing flight on an earlier sortie.

Flight Sub-Lieutenant Stefanik, 1st Aerial Battalion

A dependable officer, whose steadfastness in the face of the enemy has resulted in a consistently excellent record as a bomber in the Red Baron World League, in addition to downing an enemy scout bent on the destruction of his bombing group.

Second Lieutenant Wailwulf, 1st Aerial Battalion

This determined officer offered a tenacious defence of a target of strategic importance against enemy scouts and bombers despite suffering damage to his own aircraft. Second Lieut. Wailwulf's efforts were rewarded by downing an enemy aircraft, whereupon he returned to doggedly defend his position.
